Meat from Rhug Estate

The Newborough family has had a presence in North Wales since the 11th century and today manage an estate that is committed to an environmentally sustainable way of caring for the land under the organic system.

The Rhug Estate sells estate produce and local products including Welsh lamb, Aberdeen Angus beef, Duroc Pork and free range poultry - including chicken and Norfolk Bronze Turkeys at Christmas. The estate also sells its own range of game including pheasant, duck, rabbit and fallow deer.

All the estate meats are available fresh along with your Boxfresh delivery.

Rhug sits in an idyllic part of North Wales on the River Dee with the spectacular backdrop of the Berwyn Mountains. The fertile pastures, rich in clovers and herbs, provide a healthy stress free environment resulting in its award winning livestock.

The GM and antibiotic free, low stress system ensures a complete on farm process resulting in one of the lowest food product miles in the industry, another secret to the tenderness, flavour and succulence of Rhug meat. The quality of the meat is further enhanced by bespoke on the bone maturation (in the case of the Aberdeen Angus beef for at least one month). Rhug's highly skilled and knowledgeable team of butchers provide the final step to ensure you have the best possible product.

The uniqueness of Rhug is the total control over the whole system from the livestock in the field to the finished meat on your plate. From its team of shepherds and herdsmen to the butchers, Rhug Estate is dedicated to providing an unrivalled eating experience. Boxfresh Organics is delighted to be able to offer Rhug produce to its customers.
